Returning Home

I am here in Pickle Land so much has changed but so much has stayed the same. This is a picture of me and my guys. Not many pictures were taken of me in the past year. And I'm glad. But I am proud of this one because I am healthy, happy and with my guys.


I am staying with Dream Diva in her home. She has mad decorating skills because her home looks like some out a decorating magazine. Tomorrow, I am going to a consignment shop that i have missed since going.

On the job front--I am one of 160 applicants for the job. People as far away as San Diego have applied. I have a slight edge--I know the area and my former boss works for the paper. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and saying my prayers. I am glad I am in recovery. I can appreciate things more. I stopped at Chick Filet for an eight piece nuggets meal with fries and a medium lemonade. The chili dog could wait. It was delicious. So far, I am having a great time. Just finished watching Harper's Island. I am challenging myself a lot this weekend. I will eat with others. I will socialize. I will get dress in front of a mirror. I will shake up my routine. And I will enjoy myself and not listen to my ED. Only one more day until chicken on a stick. I am salivating just thinking about it. Maybe, I'll get two.

    Good luck on the job hunt; the one I desperately wanted bottomed out on me, but I guess that just means I need to keep pushing (I suppose it's a bit like pushing through recovery after a slip)...

    On a completely different note, congrats on your excitement about recovery - and even on feeling proud of a photo. The power of those things cannot be stated enough.

    Thanks for the complitments on the house! I can't wait to get some paint on the walls...the all white has got to go....some color is in bad need! Anyway...I have worked hard over the past several weeks trying to get things in better order, you know. Things got really out of control during the time that the oldest was sick. I still need to clean the closets and was hoping to do that while you are with us, as I am sure there are some things in there that we can send back to JJ with you.

BOOK REVIEW: The Other Emily by Dean Koontz

  It is hard to write about "The Other Emily" by Dean Koontz. It is not because it is a bad book. I was pretty pleased with and enjoyed it. But how do you write about a book without giving away key plot points? The synopsis is simple. Emily Carlino vanished 10 years ago after her car broke down on a California highway. Stopping a downward spiral

In the past, my birthday has always been a trigger for me to relapse or get anxious. But for the past two years, my birthday has been my birthday. A day to celebrate my birth.  Around Thanksgiving, I started feeling different. December was just a month of misery. I now realize that my meds had stopped working. So here I stand at a crossroad--I can increase the dosage and continue on my merry way or not. Remeron not only stabilizes my mood but gives me an appetite.  I haven't had one since Thanksgiving. I eat based on time. If it is 7:15 a.m., it is breakfast. By noon, I must eat lunch and dinner between 6 and 7 p.m. If I increased the dosage, the appetite comes back for awhile  but I will gain more weight. This is why I was taking Seroquel to help with anxiety.  I don't think there is a enough Seroquel in the world to deal with my anxiety.
