Best. Thanksgiving Holiday. EVER!!!

Image
Decorating the Christmas tree! I am still coming down from the high of spending time with my son. He told me he know longer wants to be JJ but called James Edward. I can respect this because I  like James Edward better.  He gave me an early Christmas present! He is so tall. He is almost to my shoulders.  He also made the all As honor roll for the first grade. And he reads on an almost third grade reading level. We took turns reading to each other. I hope to help encourage his love of reading through comic books and other material. Gotta keep the boys reading!! I had the best Thanksgiving that I  have had in a longtime. It started with a nice five hour drive down. We watched a lot of movies, went to the park, visited my nephew and other activities. He is so happy to be 7! For his birthday, we actually baked his cake together, which he loved during. He said he could see himself being a chef/scientist. It was a pizza party. He had never had barb

Thankful to be able to be thankful

My favorite holiday in the whole wide world is Thanksgiving. I have always loved it. The food, fellowship and being thankful for all things.  Thanksgiving became even more special for me about seven years ago.  It was when I fell in love with the most beautiful little boy in the world--my JJ.  My boy turns the big 7 on Friday and I can’t wait to see him to give him lots of hugs and kisses.  I became pregnant with him when I was thick in ED. It wasn’t an easy pregnancy because it was a daily fight to eat and maintain an appropriate weight. But I fight hard because I wanted to make sure he had a chance. And he has taken his chance and ran with it. At four feet, he is all boy who wants to do and try everything in life. I am surprised he hasn’t had major injuries with some of his adventures. We have a phone ritual that we do everytime we talk. It is called “I love you more than ...” A recent phone call: Me--I love you more than all of the magazines in the world. JJ--T

Going from good to bad to okay

I had a really good day on Halloween. In a few short hours, it went bad. At my newspaper, no one is completely healthy. I work in a petri dish filled with various colds, viruses and who knows what else. I came down with a stomach virus. I hate throwing up. Hate it! At one point, I was curled up in a ball in front of the bathroom door in the floor. If a meteorite had hit my apartment, I would have been cool with this. By Nov. 5, I was okay but still had a killer headache. I had to be functioning by election day because well, I had assignment to do. I have finally gotten to the point where I am comfortable with eating regular food again. Last week, I was okay with eating just chicken broth and rice. Being sick like that has set me back a little. I am scared to eat. I am worried but not to worried. I figure it is just because I was so sick. My body and I have been through an ordeal. My goal is to get  well  and stay well so I can go home for Thanksgiving and help my JJ celebrate
